Luminetx Corp. has signed its first international distribution contracts for the VeinViewer, its signature product, which allows the company to begin overseas commercial shipments as early as the next few weeks.
The company will begin forays into Asia, Turkey and the Middle East with contracts with Pacific Medical Inc., Sanitas, and The Golden Triangle Organization, respectively. Demo units already have been shipped to the distributors and Luminetx representatives began on-site product training with these companies earlier this month.
Through these performance management-based relationships, hundreds of units have already been ordered for the selected countries, according to the company.
Luminetx's distributors will serve as turn-key representatives of the company in the international marketplace and will sell, service, demonstrate and market the VeinViewer product.
The VeinViewer allows physicians, nurses and other health care professionals to clearly see accessible vasculature in real time. The device uses a combination of near-infrared light and patented technologies to image vascular structures and project their location directly on the surface of the skin.
This provides clinicians with a safe, non-invasive adjunct technology for clinical treatments and procedures including IV insertions and blood and plasma donations.
The product's list price is $29,900 per unit.
According to Chris Schnee, vice president of global marketing at Luminetx, the company is focusing on a data-driven market analysis to identify the top five target regions outside of the U.S. based on health care spending trends and well-developed distribution infrastructures. After these Tier 1 regions, Luminetx will move on to other regions of the globe.
Based in Memphis, Luminetx discovers, develops and commercializes medical product and biometric technologies. The company's premier product, VeinViewer, is now available and in use nationwide.
