Baptist Memorial Health Care announced its donation of two buildings to the Memphis Bioworks Foundation, a group dedicated to promoting science-based businesses in Memphis.
The buildings are at 955 and 959 Madison, near the vacated site of the old Baptist Memorial Hospital.
The Bioworks Foundation has already renovated 959 Madison for labs to be used by ED Laboratories Inc. and RxBio Inc. Both spun off from research at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
The foundation also plans to renovate 955 Madison.
Baptist estimates the buildings' worth at $150,000. The hospital group said it has already donated $40 million in land and property to the Bioworks Foundation, which plans to build a research park at the old hospital site.
