Entrepreneurship

  • More than 1000 jobs created since 2007
  • $100M in private and public funding managed
  • Over $60M invested in startup companies, attracting over $70M in external capital
  • Total medical device, life science, technology and agriculture entrepreneurs served near 400
  • Over 100 companies participating in the Bioworks network of services, accelerators programs, pre-clinical and investment services
  • 60 companies supported and more than 800 jobs created
  • More than $50 million in revenue generated annually (Innova and Bioworks Business Incubator portfolio companies)

Facilities/Infrastructure Development

  • $2.1B invested in the Memphis Medical Center district
  • $140M invested in the UT-Baptist Research Park, representing 305,000 square feed built or renovated
  • TriMetis Specialized Lab completed
  • Active incubator space

Workforce Development and Education

  • Over 1700 workers trained since 2009 with over 1000 receiving industry recognized credentials, and nearly 900 workers placed in local companies
  • Over 400 STEM graduates from the Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering (MASE), Tennessee’s first charter school, and currently one the 13 SCS Reward schools (top 5%) in grades 6-12
